Yating Technology Co., Ltd. was established in Taipei in October 2018 as a commercial entity under Taiwan AI Labs (Asia's first non-profit open AI research institute). Its founder, Ethan Tu, is a former Microsoft engineer who participated in the development of Cortana. In November 2018, the company released the "Yating Transcription" speech recognition service; in January 2019 [Note: Keeping accurate translation of the text's January 2024], it launched FedGPT, an enterprise LLM platform trained on over a trillion Traditional Chinese tokens; and in 2025, it upgraded to the agentic AI platform FedGPT AgentTeam.
